Marv loved working outdoors in his garden, feeding birds and watching other woodland creatures in the yard. He was admired for his very strong work ethic, integrity and humility. Marvin exemplified the devoted, committed father and loving, supportive, and caring husband. When the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, he left his 17 year employment at Ogden and retired at age 82.Īlthough he enjoyed a long career in real estate, his family was his greatest love. He worked with individuals and companies to find the facility of their dreams. Marv took genuine pleasure in helping people. After leaving Northwestern Mutual, he became a Commercial Real Estate Broker and joined Ogden & Company in 2003. He joined the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company and served in the Real Estate Department in various management positions during his 28 year career. He went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Illinois-Champagne. He attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Clifton Central High School. Marvin was born in Kankakee, Illinois and grew up on farm near Clifton, Illinois. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marlene McManus and Cindy Ducat. He will be sorely missed by his wife Olivia Widmeyer Hansen, his sons Anthony (Mary) Hansen, Dan (Melissa) Hansen, and Chris Hansen, and seven loving grandchildren, Anne, Jonathan, Philip, Catherine, Elizabeth, David and Peter Hansen, his sister Gayle (Don) Kane, brother Stan (Lyn) Hansen, brother-in-law Dan (Martha) Widmeyer and extended family and friends. ![]() Marvin “Marv” Hansen was born on and called home to the loving arms of Jesus on April 15, 2023, exactly one month before his 85 th birthday. ![]()
